Laundry Troughs For Small Families

Last updated on January 19, 2021

There are many advantages to having a laundry trough in your home. Having a good storage system for all of your laundries will help to prevent dirt and other materials from entering the dryer. There are different styles and sizes to choose from so you will be able to find the one that is going to fit your needs.

Drains For Your Sink: Adding a trough that connects directly to the sink will allow you to pour the dirty water down the drain without having to worry about draining it into the bathtub or worse yet, splashing water all over the floor. Most laundry troughs will also have sinks on them that catch the runoff. You can purchase the smaller laundry troughs with smaller sinks, but if you have a larger family or are trying to conserve space, you will want to go with the standard sized drains.

Faucet-less Washing Tubs: Instead of having to run the faucet to wash the clothes in the laundry tub, you will be able to simply place the faucet on the floor and then turn on the spigot. This installation style will also make room for other features that you may wish to add to your laundry tubs such as an exhaust fan or other accessories. You can find these products at most home improvement stores. They usually come as part of the standard laundry tub purchase.

Countertopaundry Sinks: Installment style laundry troughs countertops on the counter. This is a great way to keep your laundry hidden and out of sight. It will also hide the pipes coming in and going out of the laundry sink. These countertops will usually have sinks on them, but you can purchase countertop sinks that have the pipes concealed. There are even sinks that are made to look like they are attached to the top of a laundry bench. These are great if you have children and want to make sure their dirty laundry is not sitting on the counter.

Drop-In Laundry Sinks: This is an ideal laundry troughs setup if you do not have the space for drop-in sinks. You will still be able to have the sinks installed on the side of the building, but this will allow you to place the sink below the countertop. These sinks usually come with drop-in, but you can install them yourself. These are very popular with condo owners and apartments because of the space savings.

Wall-mounted Laundry Sinks: These are extremely convenient for people who do not have room for drop-in laundry troughs. These sinks are attached to the wall and will look just like a regular fixture in your laundry room. The only difference is the sink is hidden under the countertop and concealed behind a wall panel. These sinks come in a variety of styles and materials, so it is easy to find one to match your current style.

Portable Laundry Tops: These are the smallest of the laundry troughs systems and are perfect for those that need to wash small loads at a time. These are the most portable of all of the options, but most people do not find the portability appealing. Many people choose these simply because they are cheaper than other systems, or simply because they are easier to move around. These are also a good choice for apartment dwellers and for people who wish to reduce their dependence on standard washer and dryer.

All of these options are available and each of them is built to a different standard. So, no matter what the size of your home, you can find a set of laundry troughs to fit.
